My name is Ed and I am the founder, CEO and head coach of my affiliate. In three months, with a team of 15 full-time trainers and operations staff, I will celebrate the gym’s 14th anniversary. But this anniversary is a bit different because it will mark the beginning of a new era.
Three months ago, I decided to switch from commission to fixed salary. Some will say that “we have gotten down to work”, others will say that “it was about time”.
Gym Owners: Paying Your Staff
Think of your staff as players on a soccer team. Think of your payroll budget as your “salary cap.” If you limit your income to 33% of your gross income and your expenses to 22%, you can pay up to 44% of your total gross income to your staff.
How to get there is up to you, and you can see the full breakdown in our “Intrapreneurship 101” guide (download it here for free).
How do you train to become a Crossfit trainer?
Unless CrossFit Affiliates are part of referral programs, we cannot advertise on social media. Your CrossFit L1 training program may use the methodology employed by CrossFit, but only when membership is earned; his CrossFit name can also describe him as an L1 trainer.
All members of the class can sit as if they were all attending. In order to organize a good lesson, your trainer must be aware of the lesson planning. The good trainer makes the users of it want to work with him/her.

What does a CrossFit instructor do?
CrossFit is a training style that consists of high intensity training, with a combination of weight lifting exercises, functional movements, gymnastics and running. Practices are short and hard and he often tries to beat the clock.
The CrossFit trainer is essentially a personal trainer for a class of CrossFit participants. Trainings are usually done in groups of 10 to 15 people. The coach’s job is to teach them proper exercise technique, make sure they use proper form, promote a high-energy environment, and motivate people to reach their highest level.
